Macungie Realtor(R) featured on HGTVās āHouse Huntersā
The reality television program, which fills a half-hour time slot on HGTV, follows prospective home buyers and their agents as they tour through several homes and eventually pick a property to purchase.
Oswald, a third generation RealtorĀ® who began her career in 1995 working for her familyās real estate business, learned about the audition through her manager Barb Hodick.
āBarb thought I would be a great fit for the show so I applied,ā Oswald said. āI asked my clients Jon and Stacy Puliatte to be a part of the show and they agreed.ā
The trio sent in an application and a video audition to the HGTV production company. To their surprise, the company picked their application and sent a film crew out last March to film them at three home locations in Macungie.
While many home showings take about 30 minutes or less, Oswald spent three days working with a film crew and her clients as they toured the homes. She and the Puliattes often spent eight hour days at the locations shooting multiple takes and interviews.
āThe application process was very easy but filming was a lot of work,ā she said. āIām pretty outgoing but this was an intimidating experience. I was also very happy that they gave Macungie so much exposure.ā
Since participating in the filming, Oswald said she has received plenty of questions from curious friends and family members about the experience.
āI even had a past client contact me to say that she had seen the show,” she added. “Itās a very popular show and a lot of people watch it. My phone was going crazy.”
Oswald believes this is a great opportunity for real estate professionals to gain publicity and recommends it to others who may be interested.
āI love being a RealtorĀ® because every day is an adventure,ā she said. āThis show was a fun experience to do considering this is what we do every day and the public loves it because they try andĀ guess which house the couple choose. It’s an experience you can’t truly understand unless you’re in front of the cameras.”
