Government AffairsThere’s a new senator in town
Sen. Dave Argall, left, and Helen Miernicki
This past Tuesday, Dave Argall was sworn-in as senator for the 29th Senatorial District. The seat was open since the November election when the majority of voters cast their ballot for the late Jim Rhoades.
Helen Miernicki, Senator Argall’s Key Contact, was an integral part of PAR’s campaign for his victory in a special election held earlier this month. She attended his swearing-in ceremony as a friend of the senator. Helen is a very active Key Contact and meets with Argall regularly.
“I’ve known Dave for a long time,” Helen said. “His sons and my boys were in Boy Scouts together. He looks to me for answers to his real estate questions because he trusts me. After all these years, I never thought I’d have the opportunity to sit in the PA Senate chamber and watch Dave being sworn-in as senator!”
Helen has a very personal relationship with Senator Argall but that isn’t always the case for Key Contacts. Helen’s advice is to get involved in the community and stay current on issues. “You have to be the source with the most accurate information for a legislator to value your opinion,” she said.
I’m just wondering, do your legislators contact you with questions about the real estate industry?
