Civera, a long-time supporter of real estate issues, will retire this year after serving nearly 30 years in the state House of Representatives. Civera served on the House Professional Licensure Committee for 12 years and as chair for nine years. During his tenure, he helped enact legislation important to the real estate industry such as agency, reciprocity, the Home Inspection Law and updates to the Real Estate Licensing and Registration Act (RELRA).

PAR President Greg Herb said, “Mario has been instrumental in ensuring that increases in the realty transfer tax (RTT) and taxes on real estate services have been kept off the table at budget time and for that we are grateful.”

Civera said, “This is one of the best groups of people I’ve worked with. I won’t forget PAR. Your association is always interested in protecting the rights of consumers and the REALTOR® name.”
