Ripping up carpet and painting walls were just some of the tasks on the work docket for the staff of the PA Association of REALTORS® (PAR) as the association officially kicked off REALTORS® Reach Out Month on Monday.  The staff helped rehab a warehouse that will serve as a food pantry for New Hope Ministries in Mechanicsburg.

PAR President Greg Herb also lent a hand during the event. “It’s so wonderful that we are able to volunteer our time and help organizations in need,” said Herb.

PAR partnered with Rebuilding Together® of Greater Harrisburg, an all-volunteer non-profit organization to assist New Hope Ministries. New Hope Ministries Inc. is a Christian social service agency assisting nearly 5,000 residents in the Greater Harrisburg and York communities.

To date 26 local associations and boards are participating in the statewide project. Last year when the initiative began, more than 2,200 REALTORS® from 27 REALTOR® associations volunteered and raised more than $28,000 for charitable organizations across the state. A list of participating local REALTOR® associations can be found at parealtor.org/RRO.htm.
