Foreclosures have not reached the crisis level in Pennsylvania as they have elsewhere, according to Dr. Austin Jaffe, PAR’s consulting economist and director of real estate studies at Penn State University. “Although the foreclosure rate may be increasing, the magnitude is much less severe,” Jaffe added.
RealtyTrac ranks the commonwealth 34th among the 50 states in the number of foreclosures, well below the national average.
