Virtual staging is a growing trend that many REALTORS® are using to move listings.

Barb Schwarz, creator of the home staging industry, has been teaching and speaking about home staging for more than 35 years.

“Virtual staging is fine as long as the house is staged as well,” said Schwarz.

In part one of our series on home staging, Schwarz discusses the pros and cons of virtual staging and recommends that REALTORS® “do the right thing and get the property staged.”

I’ve been researching virtual staging and think its a great idea. I find it funny that traditional home stagers often seem threatened by virtual staging. They seem to be people that have been doing traditional home staging for years and are stuck in their ways and feel like Virtual Staging is going to take away form their business.

It reminds me of when e-mail first started to become hot, some people feared it would wipe out snail mail and the postal system… but it didn’t, there will always be a need for both traditional and virtual home staging and traditional home stagers shouldn’t feel threatened by new technology and innovation in their industry.
