HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan provided good news yesterday for first-time homebuyers at NAR’s Midyear Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C.

According to the article on Realtor.org, Secretary Donovan said, “The Federal Housing Administration is going to permit its lenders to allow homeowners to use the $8,000 tax credit as a downpayment.”

Do you think this will encourage more first-time buyers to purchase a new home?
