Ask Meghan: Update Facebook business pages automatically

Question: How do I update my Facebook business page with content from my blog automatically?

Answer: There’s a free Facebook application I recently discovered called RSS Graffiti. I use it for PAR’s accounts to link RSS feeds (including Twitter status updates) to our Facebook pages and groups to offer timely news and information to our fans from PARJustListed.com.

To find this application, type RSS Graffiti in the top search bar on Facebook. Once located, click the “Add to my page” button on the left hand side.

The next step is to go to your business page and click edit. Scroll down the page until you see RSS Graffiti and click edit. This is where you will configure the settings and will need the URL of the feed. You will need to give the application permission to post to your page’s wall.

Once you have this configured, Facebook will automatically pull any new content from your RSS Feed or Twitter account depending on your scheduling options. For PAR pages, I have the application check for new content as soon as possible and publish it automatically.

You’ll need the address of the feed. For example, if you were using PARJustListed.com’s feed, you would click the “Subscribe to this feed” button at the top right of this site and copy and paste the address into RSS Graffiti. If you want to use your Twitter updates, go to your Twitter page and click the link towards the bottom of the right hand column that says “RSS feed of (Twitter username)’s tweets.” Then copy and paste the URL into RSS Graffiti.

Your article states “you will confiture the settings and will need the URL of the feed. I’m not clear on which URL feed you are referring?
