Voting is important part of Realtor® advocacy
Tuesday, May 16 is Pennsylvania’s primary election. Realtors® understand the importance of voting – it gives us a chance to have a voice in the decisions that are made in our communities and the commonwealth.
Primary, non-presidential elections may garner less attention in the media, however they are very important. I find that sometimes, people think skipping the primary election isn’t a big deal. But at the municipal level, there are elections for mayor, county commissioner and school board that can have an even greater impact on the real estate industry than elections held at the state or federal level. Every vote matters!
Don’t forget, if you’re headed to NAR’s Mid-Year Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C. next week, you’ll want to request an absentee ballot. Your ballot must be received by your County Board of Elections by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 12.
As Realtors®, we recognize how local lawmakers impact our clients and our businesses. It’s important that we consider candidates who support homeownership, private property rights and the real estate industry.
Making the Realtor® voice heard helps elect candidates who ensure that private property rights continue to be protected. Many decisions that affect the real estate industry and transactions are made at the local level. That’s why it’s so crucial to vote in primary election next week.
